tip-toeing through pantomime

So, I'm smack in the middle of Class 4, Introduction to Acting, with my amazing mentor (I've been really lucky when it comes to mentors) Ray Chase! The only downside to this class is that my Q&A is at midnight here on the east coast. Oh well, I'm probably my most attentive and productive around midnight, given that I never recovered from the sleep schedule I was on while bartending!
This class started with a 5-week-long assignment on pantomime.

the end of class 3...

Where does the time go? Class 3 has come and gone, and without a break week, I'm already immersed in week 2 of Class 4!
As I mentioned in previous posts, I learned a ton from animation master Wayne Gilbert during the Advanced Body Mechanics class. I now pay much closer attention to what I'm watching while reviewing video reference, and I am much more confident when moving from blocking to spline.

catching up with Stewie

Thanks to the newest fuzzy addition to my family (pictured left), I've been a tad behind on updating you all with my latest work. I'm not sure how many people drop by, but I appreciate it if you do!
The past three weeks have been dedicated to the planning, blocking, and splining of the second shot in my Stewie at the Gym series: Stewie's Weight Lifting.

re-planning stewie's warm-ups

I'm moving forward with my "Stewie at the Gym" series this week, but I've revisited the reference and sketches to address some very good notes that my mentor, Wayne Gilbert, gave me. I also gave Stewie some clothes so he doesn't get kicked out of the gym.

As promised, I've returned to the Stewie as Sugar Plum Fairy piece that I hastily "finished" at the end of Class 2. And by returned, I mean I've opened up the frame limit a bit to accommodate a better start to the piece and have gone back to the blocking plus stage in order to get everything sorted out before going to spline.

assignment 2.3: shall we dance?

After successfully getting Stewie to struggle through a windstorm, I decided to try and make him a little more graceful for my final assignment for the second term. After all, he has arms now!
For my last assignment, I decided to go with the "simple dance move" option from the pick list.
